Raspberry Pi Stackable Cluster Cases – Product Review

Today I am will be writing about two separate products sold by Jun Electron. These products are the Stackable Dog Bone Case and the 4 layer acrylic stackable gray case with fan and heatsink for raspberry pi. Each case comes designed for stacking and clustering your Raspberry Pi computers. The following two Raspberry Pi Stackable Cases are available from Jun Electron on Amazon.com

Complete Stackable Dog Bone Case

The first review is over the Complete Stackable Dog Bone Case. This is a dog bone shaped acrylic case designed for multiple Raspberry pi computers. Included in this kit are 4 acrylic bases, mounting hardware, screwdriver and tweezers for easy removal of the Raspberry Pi SD card. There are two features I really like about this kit.

The first feature is that the top piece has the Raspberry Pi logo cut out of the acrylic. The second feature is that each base has a notch cut out for the SD card, which allows for easy removal. The hardware comes in it’s own case. The kit comes standard with a heat sink for the USB Hub, Broadcom processor and the RAM memory underneath. Each base is cutout for both the heatsink and the SD card slot. The kit comes in two colors. The first color is clear with brass hardware. The second color is dark grey charcoal, with stainless hardware. If you love the Dog bone shape cases, this is the one to get. I personally recommend the black with charcoal, as it gives the case a very sleek look.

4 Layer Square Acrylic Stackable Case with fan and heatsink for Raspberry Pi

This is my pick for personal favorite stackable case. And not just for one or two reasons. The square 4 Layer Acrylic Stackable Case with fan and heatsink for Raspberry Pi kit is ideal for clustering due to it’s heatsinks and fans. The kit comes standard with a heat sink for the USB Hub, Broadcom processor and the RAM memory underneath. Each base is cutout for both the heatsink and the SD card slot. Also included are 4 fans to prevent overheating. Each stack has a top and bottom with cutouts for the GPIO pins and both the camera and digital touch screen ribbon connector.

The kit comes in two colors. The first color is clear with brass hardware. The second color is dark grey charcoal, with stainless hardware. The hardware comes in it’s own case and both cases come with two different types of hardware, either metal or black nylon. Included in this kit are 4 acrylic bases, mounting hardware, screwdriver and tweezers for easy removal of the Raspberry Pi SD card and four fans to prevent overheating. The fans plug into the GPIO pins and turn on with power up of the Raspberry Pi. This case is my personal favorite and my pick for recommendation. If you have a cluster supercomputer project, this is the case to buy.

Both kits were extremely easy to assemble, and of quality parts. I highly recommend Jun Electron for your Raspberry Pi Accessories!
